Three Suns is a generative artwork based on the mathematical “superformula.” Three dark objects, defined by bright orange rays, inhabit a shared space. As they circle one another and change in size, they generate a continuous soundscape determined by their relative positions.
As the objects travel, they leave visual traces that are overwritten and blended over time, creating a dense, layered composition.
The project was featured by Bruce Sterling in Wired Magazine (‘Showtime: LIA, Three Suns’, 2012). While originating as real-time software, the work is distributed as a single-channel video for cinema and exhibition contexts by the Austrian distributor sixpackfilm.
