Go With The Flow is a contemporary dance performance featuring a custom generative visual system created by LIA. The visuals were projected onto three vertical, mobile screens that were physically manipulated by the dancers throughout the piece, acting as dynamic architectural elements and partners in the choreography.
The software analyzed live audio input from the stage to drive the visual forms. During the premiere, LIA performed live using a computer and mixing console to modulate the parameters in real-time, responding directly to the sonic intensity – such as the chaotic structures triggered by a performer’s scream.
For the subsequent international tour, the system was adapted to be operated by a technician, allowing the piece to travel extensively to venues including the Mercat de las Flors in Barcelona and the Centro Cultural de Belém in Lisbon.
