For the BIX media facade at the Kunsthaus Graz, LIA created a site-specific, interactive media intervention titled INT.5_27/G.S.I.L.XXXI.
Curated by Sandro Droschl, the work functioned as a real-time translation of the city’s sonic environment into visual architecture. A directional microphone installed on the main bridge facing the museum captured environmental noise. This audio data was transmitted wirelessly to the BIX control unit, where LIA’s custom software analyzed the input.
The software used the input levels to manipulate the position, rotation, and size of reduced graphic elements, creating an abstract, architectural visualization of the soundscape surrounding the museum.
