The numbers 18 and 5 were given by the grid of the buildings projections surface and were implemented in the image generating code in various ways.

Architect: Jan Hoogstad, 1992
Projection equipment: 2 x Hardware large format projectors (155x155mm slides) using 7000watt Xenon lamps
