Site-Specific Generative Art: St. Stephen’s Cathedral, Vienna

July 3, 2012 By admin

In a unique dialogue between historical architecture and contemporary digital art, LIA was commissioned to create a site-specific generative installation within the iconic St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Vienna.

As part of the 2012 ‘Lange Nacht der Kirchen’, the cathedral’s Gothic interior was transformed into a monumental canvas. The work was performed live in accompaniment to a full orchestral performance of Franz Schubert’s Mass in A-Flat Major, creating an immersive synthesis of sound, light, and sacred space.
