These prints are derived from LIA’s interactive software artwork Re-move 08, from the Re-move series of online artworks based at http://re-move.org, created between 1999 and 2003.
One of LIA’s earliest online artworks, Re-move 08 shows much of LIA’s painterly style. A set of mathematically chaotic algorithms guide the placement of thousands of individual pixels. The algorithms are tuned to lend the resulting image a quality that shifts between randomness and precision, as though it has been drawn by hand with a piece of charcoal.
